Marines Visit ACE Facility

Allison, Pennsylvania, USA

Fenner Dunlop’s Allison Conveyor Engineering (ACE) plant recently witnessed a very touching visit from members of the United States Marine Corps. Private First Class Shane Piper along with several of his fellow marines came to the ACE facility in Allison, PA to see former Marine Sergeant Donald Peterson, an ACE employee. The young Private recently found out with a saddened heart that Mr. Peterson had been experiencing emotional and financial difficulties since his wife was diagnosed with cancer. Struggling with work and caring for his ill wife had taken its toll on Mr. Peterson.

PFC Piper and his fellow marines put together a basket full of meat, potatoes, vegetables, and a dessert for Mr. Peterson’s family for Christmas dinner. Piper said to Peterson, “Once a Marine, always a Marine. I know that you have helped many in your time and now we feel that it is time for us to give back to you.” When presented with the basket, Mr. Peterson graciously accepted the gift and thanked the Marines for their caring and kindness.

All of the employees at the Allison facility wish this young PFC and the servicemen and women of the Marine Corps safe travels during the holiday and the best of luck in performing their duties. We thank all members of the armed forces for their charity, their kindness, and their devoted service for our country.
