Distributor Profile

by: Bill McKellar & Jill Schultz

The Distributor Profile section will be generated from our distribution network. The prime focus of this section will include anything new and exciting that revolves around the Fenner Dunlop distribution network.

Kaman Industrial Technologies is a subsidiary of Kaman Corporation, a diversified $1 billion company providing high technology products and services. As the third largest power transmission distributor in North America with 200 branches in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, Kaman also provides a wide range of products and systems related to bearings, mechanical and electrical power transmission, motion control, material handling, and fluid power for the MRO and OEM markets.

Fenner Dunlop Americas has had a long standing partnership with Kaman in Southern California and Nevada.  Recently, Kaman added a Tucson branch to their locations.  The twenty-two branches serving Southern California are managed by Western V.P., Ed Johnson and District Managers Fred Freeman, Tom Serafin and Dave Samaro, who are assisted by Sales Manager Ron Henderson. Art Ciancio is Kaman’s Material Handling Specialist who handles all of the belting business, while Pete Verkaik manages the Belt Shop.  The Tucson location is now managed by Don Winder.

Product & Service offering

The main belt shop, located in La Mirada, CA, stocks a variety of Fenner Dunlop Industrial products that serve largely the aggregate and mining industries.

Belting products, with various cover compounds, include:

  • UsFlex®

  • PSR®

  • RockMaster®

  • PitBull

The Kaman Belt Shop also stocks an uncommon White Granite® for Rio Tinto Minerals' Boron, CA, mine.

The Belt Shop serves as the operating base for Kaman's California service department which consists of two two-man crews. As one would expect from a Fenner Dunlop TCSD distributor, Kaman’s service department is dedicated to provide the best in conveyor belt installation, vulcanizing, conveyor components, customized training and maintenance programs.  Trained Fenner Dunlop Certifiied Splicers can splice belts throughout Southern California 24” up to 72” in width.

All products and services are available through their network of nearly 200 locations, all backed by some of the most reputable manufacturers in the material handling industry. They offer programs that go beyond the role of product provider; programs proven to deliver a reduction in the total cost of doing business. With the same spirit of innovation that drove Charles Kaman to found Kaman Corporation 50 years ago, their people are thinkers, problem solvers, engineers, and solution providers.

Markets Served

Kaman’s largest customers are in the mining and aggregate markets, but they also supply belting for food preparation, bottling and parts manufacturing.
