The friction surface operates at up to 20db lower than a solid- woven belt’s friction surface and up to 9db lower than a rubber belt’s RFL treated friction surface. Lowering the noise levels 20db is similar to going from a busy street into the average home. This is music to anyone’s ears.

Design
In an effort to help our clients improve the workplace environment, Fenner Dunlop has developed a belting product that operates more quietly than other belting products. The SilentPartner® has a new, innovative, needled fabric construction that operates with low noise characteristics. It produces less than 70db running at 500 feet per minute. The belt is resistant to impact and cutting. It resists damage from luggage, parcels, and other materials providing longer service life.

Performance
The SilentPartner® is designed with a superior balanced polyester carcass implementing S and Z warp yarns. This carcass offers superior tracking and fastener holding characteristics. The belt design has excellent edge integrity and is dimensionally stable with low elongation. It is easily spliced, endless or mechanically fastened with excellent results. Small pulley diameters can be incorporated in the conveyor design because of its excellent flexibility. The non- woven, needled construction eliminates ply separation, protects the internal strength member for incredible durability, and eliminates the possibility of stringing. The SilentPartner® can be manufactured with cover types and coefficients of friction to meet client requirements. All Fenner Dunlop products offered for baggage handling are available in flame- retardant compounds that meet either ASTM 378 or ISO 340 standards.

Testing Noise level testing is performed by installing a Decibel Meter at a pre–determined distance from a conveyor belt as it is running over a slider bed surface. The sound levels obtained by this method are in a controlled environment ensuring consistent and reliable test data. These results are not an indication of the levels that will be obtained in other environments, but do offer a relative comparison proving that the SilentPartner® operates at considerably lower noise levels.
