The Rip Ranger system is a microprocessor monitoring unit designed with durable field proven components. Advanced diagnostics provide continuous system monitoring that minimizes and eliminates system faults or malfunctions.
The RIP RANGER protects all belts 36" wide or greater. Modular construction makes for easy installation and maintenance. The comprehensive operator's manual is easy to read and is provided with all systems.
How does it work?
Antenna are embedded intermittently throughout the conveyor belt. Transmitters and receivers are located strategically near conveyor loading and discharge sections where most belt rips occur. For maximum protection, units can be located at the loading and the discharge locations.
The control box sends a signal through the transmitters to each antenna as it passes by the transmitter. The signal passes through the antenna back to the receiver and on to the box. The control box receives the signal and evaluates the message. Lack of transmitted signal indicates that damage has occurred to the belt. The RIP RANGER shuts down the conveyor immediately to avoid propagation of the tear and limit the damage to the belt.
Without a rip detection system a belt rip may continue for hundreds or thousands of feet. Your belt may be cut completely in two for the entire length of the belt. The RIP RANGER on duty can give you the peace of mind that your system is under continuous watch.
